We’re approaching the most important day of your life! I’m sure lots of photo ops and ideas are rushing through your mind like crazy -This moment, that portrait, this detail… It’s a lot. That’s why you need an eye and a partner you can trust. With over a decade of experience, I’ve seen most everything. And every twist and turn is an exciting new opening.
We will talk a lot leading up to your wedding day! Remember, I get excited when you get excited. I cry when you cry. I laugh when you laugh. I tell your story best when I feel what you feel. I will ask you which moments you are dreaming of and again how you envision your wedding as a whole. These conversations help me approach your day with a fresh vision.
Are you wearing a wedding dress passed down from generation to generation? Are you wearing a family heirloom? Are you reading your own vows? Are you surprising your loved one with something? Are you choreographing your first dance as a surprise to your guests? Will their be fireworks? Tell me EVERYTHING and I’ll capture your story as it naturally unfolds.
Tell me who and what is most important to you… and also tell me about any potential stressors that you are feeling. That way I can hone in on those personal and emotional moments with the people who matter most. Together, we’ll also draft a timeline throughout your engagement to ensure we have the space, time, and setting for the photos of your dreams. Rest assured, though, that we’ll embrace spontaneatity. If we are celebrating your day by crossing items off a list, photo by photo, it will take away the spontaneity and emotion. So, TRUST ME. You will end up with a personal story of your day - and it will be filled with gorgeous details, natural light filled portraits, and candid intimate moments. All of my wedding couples receive a hand-crafted, fully customized wedding album with their personal photo collection. It’s so important to cherish your wedding photographs in a tangible way - on your coffee table or bookshelf– where you can hold them and share your favorite moments with your loved ones and passing on those memories to future generations. It’s a true heirloom.
The Deliverables
I’m not just a “show up and shoot” type of girl. Transportative photographs come from authentic dialogue. Subtle cues and unspoken understandings. This is a two-way relationship - nothing artificial. We are telling your story together. When we create together, your photos are more meaningful and have more emotional depth.
I am a hybrid photographer, shooting a combination of film and digital. The light and moment dictates the medium. With both, I aim for classic and timeless images and editing that you will love for years to come.
My Approach
I’ve always been the girl totally in love with weddings. I’m not an expert wedding planner by any means– please hire one– but I thought it might be helpful to share, from a photographer’s point of view, what I’ve experienced to be an ideal wedding day timeline. I envision your wedding day with chunks of time for each major event so nothing is passed over too quickly. Light plays a huge factor. I want to make sure all important portraits and details are photographed in natural light. Your timeline takes into consideration family traditions, location, weather, time of portraits, distance between locations, and so much more. After deciding to move forward, we will chat about what you are most excited about! Most couples choose to move forward with 10 hours of wedding day coverage and an additional photographer. The key to enjoying your wedding day is creating a great timeline from day one- a timeline where all important moments have time to be photographed, but also a timeline where there is room to enjoy your day naturally and uninterrupted so you can be present and celebrate with your loved ones.
